Transition Programme
Our Transition Team works with your child’s primary school to ensure we have all the information we need to help him/her enjoy his/her transition to secondary school in September and make the experience as smooth and effective as possible.
Throughout the transition process, we communicate with our new parents by email using the contact details you used to submit your preference to Sefton in October. We are confident that during this transition process, you and your child will be fully supported during this important milestone for them.
Our transition programmes involves: -
- A welcome evening for all parents and new pupils in March of year 6
- An interview for both the parent and pupil with a Senior Leader or the Headteacher in June of Year 6
- A pupil induction day on the last Thursday in June of Year 6, pupils attend our school instead of going to the primary school on this day.
- An optional summer school experience where pupils are invited into school during the summer holidays to take part in a range of team building and other activities.
- An invite to our school open evening in September. Pupils are able to tour the school with their parents to see their classrooms and meet their new subject teachers.
- A year 7 Transition Evening. All year 7 pupils with their parents will meet with form tutors in November of year 7 to review the start of the academic year.
